                                Glen Brook Golf Club
a municipality owned golf course open to the public

        We're ready! we're open!

Thank You to all of our membership for your loyal support during the 2006 through 2008 golf seasons!  As we look forward to 2009, every effort will be made to keep improving the finest golf course in the Pocono Mountains and Northeast Pennsylvania.

Stroud Township and the staff at Glen Brook  want to make Glen Brook Golf Club your golf course of choice for 2009 and beyond.   Exciting news for this year is that the restaurant is now open under new management with new menu and new name "Club House Cafe".

Stroud Township acquired the 224 acre Glen Brook Golf Club off Hickory Valley Rd.  with the main goal of preserving and protecting the open space surrounding the golf course, especially the two miles of McMichael's Creek corridor.  Township Supervisors committed themselves to making improvements to the golf course and its amenities.
This year marks the fourth full year of Township ownership and operation of Glen Brook Golf Club.   Since the October 2005 purchase, significant capital improvements to the golf course and its amenities have been made. We will continue to make improvements to make it one of the best courses to play in the area. Plans for this year include tree-trimming and removal to open up some of the fairways, and drainage improvements to Hole #10.  We are now allowing uses of the property on some non-course areas, such as hiking, bird watching, fishing, and cross country skiing. A master plan prepared by Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation is available on the internet at www.srosrc.org/openspace.htm.

A big change in 2006 was reversing the front and back nines to the original 1929 through 1978 configuration.  Re-designing the ninth hole (previously the 18th hole) is being considered.  A snack and beverage cart circulated the course for golfers’ convenience.  Glen Brook’s motel units, The On-The-Fairway Guest Suites,  offered Stay and Play packages, and will remain open through the winter.

A full service Golf Pro Shop and Golf Bag Storage Area is open throughout the year.  Stop in for some great gifts for the avid golfer.

Lesson and golf handicapping services are available during the golfing season.  The practice fairway, opposite the 14th green, was opened and widened.  As in the past, you need to provide your own practice balls and retrieve them from the practice area.

The historical, gracious John Stroud House , which serves as the Glen Brook Golf Course Clubhouse during golf season, also underwent renovations after purchasing.   This elegant, classic building, erected in the 1790’s, offers beautiful views, a friendly dining atmosphere, and bar.   A major change this year will involve the management and new name for the golf course restaurant.  Mr. Patrick Mullally, former owner/operator of Dansbury Depot, will be taking over the club house restaurant, giving it a new name, “Club House Café”, a new menu, and new personnel. It will cater to not only the membership and golfers, but also to the public.  The Township looks forward to working with Pat and appreciates his enthusiasm for making the Glen Brook Golf Club and Club House Café the best that it can be! Reservations are suggested once it re-opens.
